The New Squarespace Local Development Server
Here at Squarespace, we use the same Developer Platform as our customers to build our own website and all of our templates. One of our founding principles is “Be Your Own Customer,” so we are always looking to build products and design experiences that we would want for ourselves.
Today, we’re pleased to announce the launch of one of our most requested developer features: Squarespace Local Development Server. The new Server allows you to locally preview changes made to the template code, rather than testing changes on a live website. Not only does this enable new ideas to be tested in a much more efficient way, it allows multiple editors to simultaneously collaborate on a Squarespace website.
We’re constantly searching for ways to support our customers and make it easier to build beautiful websites on Squarespace. We recently launched Squarespace Circle, a community for creative professionals who build sites for clients on Squarespace, where they can access unique perks, expert insights, and optimized support. The new Development Server is the latest in our mission to help make the experience of building on the Developer Platform a positive one.
